Rich is an artist who works in watercolor and ink, and straddles the two worlds of commercial and fine art. He has been a full time artist since 1983, and, despite stints at the Art Students League and New York’s School of Visual Arts, considers himself mostly self-taught. He now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Rich has been creating commercial illustration work since 1978, book covers, magazines, and music industry cd covers and festival posters. He created the posters for the Mississippi Delta Blues Festival, the ‘96 and ‘97 Virginia Town Point Jazz Festival, the ‘98 Summer Breeze Music Festival,1998 NASFT Fancy Food Show at San Francisco’s Moscone Center, and the SF Treasure Island Blues Festival in ’98, Orange County Classic Jazz Festival, and West Virginia Jazz Fest in 2000, and the Telluride Blues Festival poster for 2007. |
